We Invite You To Impact The Lives Of These Deserving Students

A donation to the College of Marin Foundation is an investment in the community. It supports students who otherwise would not have the opportunity for higher education. Because of our limited resources, the Foundation is only able to provide assistance to about half of those students who need it. Your commitment to the future of these students can help us provide urgently needed funds for tuition, books, equipment, and emergencies.

Below are some of the costs your donation might help with:

  • $750 for books for a full-time student for one semester
  • $240 for tuition for a full-time student for one semester
  • $50 for a semester parking permit
  • $750 for tools for students enrolled in the Automotive Technology program
  • $2,500 for the cost of a stenograph machine for students enrolled in the Court Reporting program
  • $2,200 for books, equipment, and transportation to hospitals for nursing students
  • At the College of Marin Foundation, 100% of your contribution goes directly to assist the students. In recognition of your contribution, scholarship donations may be named in honor of the donor.

Thank you for helping us transform lives.

Rachel Howard, 27

A graduate of the College of Marin’s Dental Assisting Program, Rachel, an expectant first-time mother, will soon receive her degree in nursing. Foundation book grants and scholarships have made it possible for her to be in the nursing program. She says, “The Foundation facilitated my education and allowed me to participate more fully without worrying about certain financial constraints that burden students.”

Dear Friends:

First of all, thank you for your ongoing support of the vital work the College of Marin Foundation does to help students achieve their dreams. Because of this support I am able to share the stories of two students who are contributing back to our community. Both stories are about people with a passion for nursing.

Molly was born and raised in Marin County and knew that her family would not be able to pay for her to go to college. Undeterred and deeply committed to her goal, Molly sought ways to make her dream come true. "It was a blessing and a surprise to discover that I'd received a College of Marin Foundation scholarship. I can honestly say that without that support, I would not be a college student today." Molly is excelling in her classes and is well on her way to becoming a registered nurse because of the support of people like you.

Many others like Molly have succeeded only because help was available along the way. Take for example Nasser, who had a dream and is now living a reality.

Nasser moved to Marin County in 1990 when he got a job as a Medical Assistant at Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael. He found he enjoyed working in health care and wanted to advance his career. He enrolled in College of Marin's nursing program and was able to complete his courses at night while working full-time. He now serves as Clinical Supervisor of Nursing for Kaiser and credits much of his success to the affordable and excellent instruction he received at COM.

College of Marin graduates can be found in all walks of life and some, like zoologist Dr. Dian Fossey, have even been fortunate enough to change the world.

Your gift, large or small, to the College of Marin Foundation makes an enormous difference in the lives of our students. I hope you will return your gift in the enclosed reply envelope or donate on our Website at www.comf.org.

Sincerely,

Margaret A. Elliott
Executive Director
