The Osher Foundation

The Osher Foundation has launched a $50 million scholarship fund which will provide scholarships for thousands of California students annually. The Osher Foundation matches funds raised by community colleges on a 1:2 basis. The COMF will acquire almost $100,000 during the next few years through its match. The Osher Foundation’s matched contribution will provide $5,000 to $10,000 annually in new scholarships for Osher Scholars at the College of Marin.Rhea

Rhea Stewart-Laws,
College of Marin Foundation Recipient

Rhea, a student who had never found success or satisfaction in school, turned her academic career and life around when she entered the College of Marin. Now she is pursuing a career in environmental science, tutors other students in biology, and is President of the Honor Society. She credits her success to support from the College of Marin faculty and financial support from the College of Marin Foundation. "If you had told me five years ago I would be successful in school, a tutor in biology and President of the Honor Society, I would've laughed in your face," said Rhea. "I don't know what I would have done without the College of Marin and the College of Marin Foundation.”
