What We Do

Many of the students who attend the College of Marin face great financial barriers in getting an education. The College of Marin Foundation helps these students realize their educational dreams. We do that each year by providing more than $600,000 to students in the form of scholarships, book grants, emergency loans, and transportation assistance. We assist hundreds of students who otherwise would have to drop out of college or postpone their education.

Our donors include hundreds of individuals, organizations, and businesses in Marin. These donors and our community-based Board of Directors recognize that financial need should not act as a barrier to obtaining an education. Every contribution makes a fundamental difference in the lives of students, and ultimately, allows them to give back to our community. There is no better investment in the future of Marin County than to support the College of Marin Foundation through a contribution or a comfscholarship endowment.

Alex Olson, 21

A Chemical Biology major at College of Marin, Alex has his sights set on medical school. After graduation, he plans to dedicate his career to research and teaching science. Alex credits the College of Marin Foundation with giving him the support he needs to complete his studies. “It is because of them that I will be able to afford a personal computer without a strain on my budget! I am so thankful for the generosity and foresight of the donors and contributors who give students the assistance they need.”
