Floyd D. Allensby Memorial |
The Floyd D. Allensby Memorial endowment was
established by the Elks Lodge 1108 as a memorial to Floyd Allensby,
a member of the Lodge devoted to the cause of education. It is
granted on the basis of need and academic achievement. |
Chi Omega Alumnae |
This scholarship, provided by Chi Omega Alumnae
of Marin, is awarded to a College of Marin woman who demonstrates
academic excellence with clearly defined career goals, financial
need, and who plans to transfer to a four-year school. |
Frances M. Compton Memorial |
Frances Compton, former President of the Marin
Community College District Board of Trustees, was active in state-wide
organizations. This scholarship is awarded to a student who will
be continuing studies at the College of Marin next year. |
DeBorba Family Memorial |
An endowment in memory of Rose, Joseph, and
Edward DeBorba, this scholarship was established by the late Carolyn
DeBorba in memory of her husband and his parents, and is given
annually to a deserving student. |
Elizabeth Manning Deedy |
Elizabeth Manning Deedy is a former President
of Marin Community College District Board of Trustees, the College
of Marin Foundation, and the state-wide California Community Colleges
Board of Governors. This endowment was established by her family
on the occasion of her 75th birthday, and is given annually to
a deserving student. |
Joy Goldstone Dennin |
The Joy Goldstone Dennin Scholarship was established
by her family, and is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial
need and achieves at least a 3.0 grade point average. |
Irwin P. Diamond Outstanding Graduates |
This endowment was established in honor of
Irwin P. Diamond, former President/Superintendent of College of
Marin and founding member of the Board the College of Marin Foundation.
These awards are made to graduating students with the highest
grade point average in a vocational program and the highest grade
point average of a student transferring to a four-year school. |
Directors Awards |
These scholarships are based on need, academic
excellence and personal achievement. |
Carolyn Fryer Memorial |
This scholarship was established in memory
of Carolyn Fryer by her friends and colleagues. It is awarded
to a student primarily enrolled at the Indian Valley Campus, and
is based on academic excellence and financial need. |
Gay and Lesbian Student Scholarship |
This scholarship, for a gay or lesbian student,
was established in memory of Ned Tuck and Bill Peters by their
friends and coworkers. |
Stephen N. Gilardi, Sr. |
Established in memory of Stephen N. Gilardi,
Sr. this scholarship is based on financial need, academic excellence,
and personal achievement. |
Frank D. Gomez Memorial |
This scholarship is based on financial need,
academic excellence, and personal achievement. The fund was established
by anonymous donors in memory of Frank D. Gomez. |
Emma Krohn Memorial |
Established by Emma Krohn, this award is designated
for a College of Marin student transferring to a four-year school
who demonstrates financial need and academic excellence. |
R. Walter Langhart Memorial |
The R. Walter Langhart Memorial Scholarship
was established for a student in Horticulture or any other field.
The student must demonstrate academic achievement and financial
need. |
Rotary Club of Central Marin |
Established by the Rotary Club of Central
Marin, these awards are designated for COM students who have demonstrated
academic achievement, leadership potential, participation in extracurricular
activities and community involvement, transferring to a four-year
school. |
Kent Seymour Memorial |
This award was established in memory of Kent
Seymour, a founder of College of Marin Foundation and former Trustee
of the Marin Community College District. It is based on academic
excellence and financial need. |
Anna Margaret Smith Memorial |
Anna Margaret Smith, a long-time friend of
the College, established this endowment fund to provide scholarships
based on academic success and financial need. |
Eva Turner Ethnic Student |
This scholarship was established in memory
of long-time College of Marin friend, Eva Turner. It benefits
deserving ethnic students who are working towards a degree in
liberal arts, social science, or enrolled in a vocational program. |
Theodore Wellman Memorial |
This award, honoring Theodore Wellman, a founding
member of College of Marin Foundation and former Trustee of the
Marin Community College District, is given by the Board of Directors
of the Foundation. It is based on academic excellence and financial
need. |
